  • I am a huge fan of uniqueness and because of that I believe Frida Kahlo inspires me. She was a genuine person who was true to her convictions. Her unique personality and her multifaceted life have inspired many standard-bearers for human inner strength, for a love of her homeland and its culture, and for courage in the face of adversity.

Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón better known as Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter known for her many portraits, self-portraits, and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of her beloved Mexico. Her self-portraits often include interpretations of physical and psychological wounds which I believe any artist can relate to deep inside, when asked to give a meaning to their art works.

She became a painter after a near fatal accident and she is known as the master of Self-Portraits. During her short life, Frida Kahlo created 143 paintings out of which 55 are self-portraits. She argued that she painted herself because she was so often alone and because she was the subject, she knew the best.
